Intranet with XOOPS?

I should set up a company intranet.
Page should have the latest news, a calendar to reserve time / mark the events.
Pollies? Document processing/downloading.
Then the password behind the supplementary articles and news.
What modules / components are recommended and what is more common?

vihru, welcome on the XOOPS forum!

You should have a look at the modules repository.
For articles, there is the News 1.63 module.
It can also be hacked for announcing events.
But if you want a real calendar, there are a lot of calendar modules (pical, extcal) and some reservation modules.
Pollies? I don't know what that is.
For documents, there are a lot of download modules (wf-downloads) and some DMS (document mangement system) modules.
Most modules incorporate a permission system on categories, so you can decide which are accessable by who and in which way.
