Why not a Native XML Database like sedna: http://modis.ispras.ru/sedna?

XOOPS has been designed to allow other databases then MySQL.
AFAIK Up to now nobody did care to extend it to another database.
While sedna could offer additional features, I'm not sure that XOOPS would or could benefit from these.
I think dedicated databases as MySQL will have better speed and efficiency performance than XML databases. Furthermore the supporting tools and community for MySQL is a gigantic.
