Is there a way to retrieve posts users or admins have delete in CBB? (I thought I had been able to find them in the database via phpMyAdmin in the past but can't seem to now so maybe I'm mistaken.)

Not without a backup. Once deleted, the posts are removed from the database.

I think I actually figured it out. Looks like every post remains in the database, just can't get to it through the site.
in phpMyAdmin I first exported the bb_posts_text. Searched and found the text I was looking for even though it had been deleted online. (Also notice that I don't see any gaps in the post ID #s.) To find the user who made the post I exported the bb_posts table and correlated the post_ID from the _text table to the one in the _posts table.

I think I just confused myself describing that...if anyone else needs to do it let me know and I'll try a better explanation.

Or maybe not, that got me to some posts that were not on the site but maybe not necessarily all of them... I'll dig into it some more.

i know that in 3.08 there is a button on the bottom right. near that [XOOPS CBB] image. there is a link that says 'Admin', and that would make the 'Admin CP' appear. where u can administrate the pending, deleted, all posts & topics. and some other things.

The Admin>Deleted function is in 3.05 too. Looks like the same ones I got from the SQL export so maybe that's all of them.
