I am looking for a module which display random image + text with hyperlinks.
for the purpose of display simple ads.

randomquote module, random client quote and the rest of the random module doesn't seem to be supporting this.

or is there?

you may try smartpartner or for advertising needs RWbanner ...

i tried RWbanner.
it does seem to have a problem with 2.0.18.1
ads doesn't seem to be showing up even after i implement the hack to the core.
