I read the thread on Pico in one of the other forums here.
I read how some people love Pico and use it all the time.
I wish I was one of those people, but I can't figure out what to do with it.

I was able to install Pico and clicked on "generate" and Pico appears in "Main Menu", but on the admin menu all the Pico sub menus are empty except for Preferences. I don't have a clue how to use Pico.

Pico also shows up in the blocks admin menu, as a choice in the "Visible on Page" menu.

I created a block, assigned it to the Pico page and that's all I get. Isn't Pico supposed to handle generation of other html pages.

Here's what I'm trying to use XOOPS for. I have a customer who already has a website. There is no e-commerce involved. There are maybe a dozen pages. He now wants the site to be converted to a CMS so he can make simple edits to pages, and upload pdf files for people to download.

I decided to give XOOPS a try. Am I on the right track? he is not interested in user forums, avatars, polls or quizes. I looked at XOOPS back in 2002. Today, I am really trying to work with it.

I find it tough going. I can handle php, html, javascript and CSS, but there are parts of XOOPS that are a mystery to me and documentation is limited. I found a XOOPS for Dummies link and that seems to have been the most help.

Well, for that subject Mastop Publish can do the job, but if youwant to keep trying with Pico, some GIJoe's modules require Altsys (another GIJoe stuff) to be installed. Check Pico's readme for references to Altsys.

I have a quadriplegic user.

This page is a html save file as of the XOOPS index.php placed in the root.

http://hardhunting.com/ << index.html

Now, when you hit the login button you go to the login user area where the site turns into a legimate XOOPS site.

If you enter the sitehttp://hardhunting.com/index.php then you are at the XOOPS type with the bulleton board.
Right now, he doesn't wish to show the images so he has the center left block turned off.

Now the only thing he was interested in was top position with the search engine when Hard Hunting was put into the google search bar.

http://google.com

place hard hunting in the search criteria.

The first one should be

Hard-Hunting or hardhunting Deer stands and Motorized lift ...A public message board and Benton Ar. businesses emphasis on electronic lifts for disabled. scaffolding for construction, atv carriers, material haulers.
bentonvideovisions.com/ - 10k - Cached - Similar pages

I was bentonvideovisions.com when I set the site up for him, I added his hardhunting domain pointer.

He is able to use the site for his needs... uploading the files when he wishes and for him, I believe XOOPS is the best choice.

Very low maintance.

BlueStocking
accommodates videos... Videos on the forum
https://xoops.org/modules/repository .. It is time to get involved - XOOPS.ORG

You need to generate the templates manually after installing this module. Please see this thread for how to do.
