Hi all, i just installed the latest Xoops. Everything seems OK during installation. At the very end of installation I followed the instruction to go to my webpage. However there was nothing on my browser. I also tried admin.php but failed to get anything.

I just installed XOOPS in my own computer yesterday and it works well. Now I am trying to install it in my web host. Any one has any clue for this situation? Your suggestion is high appreciated.

I normally find that a white page after installation means a config error of some kind. I would double check that your config details are correct. also, some servers prefer that you don't use 'localhost' for the database server and you something like mysql.myhost.com.

Thanks for your reply. I am pretty sure the database connection part is OK since all tables had been written into my database. particularly i didn't use 'localhost'. What else can I check and how?

Ok next is to check that certain directories have the write permission that are required.

Cache,
templates_c

These directories require CHMOD 777 or 755 at least. It could be that the required template files that XOOPS creates on installation have not been written.

Hi,

you can also try to enable the debug mode - use this FAQ
https://xoops.org/modules/smartfaq/faq.php?faqid=80

..

Now I worked it out by chmoding templates_c to 777. Thank you very much!
