I am looking for a module that can be customized to search and return data from a different database that the XOOPS database...

Anything out there?

You should give more details, what kind of database, can it be called from Xoops, the environment used etc.

Any....I would like this same idea and have been looking through how to add XOOPS Search to things.....

For my situation would want the Bible, Quran, Gita, Tao Te Ching ect...to be searchable as XOOPS site....and display these with out needing to hack existing search systems when XOOPS could do it all for me....


basically a multi-purpose and as plain as possible, Search system that could display what the site is offering...was looking at Dokuwiki for the use of Text-files for ease of adding, yet doesn’t work yet….Puikwiki does yet odd translation to do still….

Yet really they are heavy for what is needed...

if it was done in a round about way, as many of your module are Hervet as in they are good for many tasks....then this would help many of us....as people could add their own sale catalogues to their site...and since XOOPS searches often show on Google ect...then this would help sales in some cases....and in ones like my own...can you imagine as well as having all the resources of peoples own answers, to spiritual questions; they also got every spiritual text globally show up on the XOOPS search also....

This is why my Bible module and Quran is not on my site, as i would rather have a system XOOPS can show this....and make the site one in concept to begin....
