How about a module that uses/integrates with Samba for File Management and Sharing internally?

Right now I use Invision File Management, and have tried some others. The problems with these are:
1. They use FTP! Major security problem for me, even if this module is accesable internally only.
2. They may require hacks to the php.ini that create security risks


If there was a module similar to this that uses the smb.conf and Samba in general to provide file management and sharing it would be a huge hit!
