according to
http://www.macambridge.com/dummies/

to had menu buttons
i need to
"You must firstly edit the main menu files located in System Admin-> Templates-> System-> system_block_mainmenu.html"
but i cant find that file at all.

first of all am i reading the right thing there?
second i have looked in my system admin but i dont
see create menu button all thats there are these options

"Avatars Banners Blocks Comments Find Users
Groups Image Manager Mail Users Modules Preferences
Smilies Templates User Ranks Edit Users"

so currently i have 1 button which says Home (which came with xoops), i want to
create other clickable buttons like
about, projects, demos but im lost.

if you want to use something, you have to learn how to use it first. Remember when you first started with dreamweaver? It wasn't easy at first, but now you can do stuff easily... same with xoops...

If you had read the FAQ and intros, you would know the basis of the XOOPS system and how the modules work. Start there, try things out, mess something up and fix it. That's how you learned dreamweaver, and probably anything else that you have learned throughout your life.

Certainly, saying "This sucks, I can't figure out how to use it" after only two hours isn't saying much about xoops. It's saying how little you actually care.

Like anything else worthwile, XOOPS is going to require some TIME and EFFORT. But it's worth it.

system admin templates is in the admin section

you need to clone your templates in order to be able to edit them..

it's all in the FAQ section..

there's no need to edit the html files directly on the server.. in fact it is recommended not to just in case you screw up.. that way the default templates are easily fallen back on..

stupid system? lol maybe you could reverse that and think stupid user? don't take that as an insult.

as for the name xoops. well you can read up on why it was called XOOPS in the all about XOOPS section in the left column.

read the FAQ section.

2hrs is not long enough to learn any new system you are unfamiliar with..

i'm still learning new things about XOOPS after 3 years..
