how do i change block sizes?

The recent comment block from the news module is too long and it stretches out the left column and squeezes the middle one.

I feel a bit stupid because i think i have done it before, there was a list of three options but i cant find it now or i completly imagined it.

You may be able to adjust this problem in the templates or adjust the block in the style.css but most likely in the template itself for that block.
