I can't update my modules or submit new ones at the module repository, most likely a permissions glitch

Nobody can...that was stopped when xoops.org went down...once the new site is up a system for module submission may be in place. I noticed you posted a new one on the forums - great way to get it out there. PM a core dev to see what can be done to update the ones you have. Cheers

xoops.org went down? Wow.... I took a vacation and on return I feel completly out of the loop here

I did check xoops.org from the hotel briefly but looking at a computer monitor really didn't count as quality vacation time for my girlfriend

This happened several weeks ago, due to some unpleasant people... there's something about it in the news - but i'll not dwell on that matter...

Something will be sorted in the near future, so in the meantime - please PM either myself or BlueNova and we can make the relevent changes for you.

just a question, I know this was a security threat, have all webmasters been informed about this, to ensure their own site isn't taken down, don't remember the warning in the news saying disable this module.

Are there any patches to fix this problem yet, or is it safer to use wf-downloads (developed by marcan - SmartFactory).

Sorry to question you here, but if the security threat was relevant to XOOPS download module, why wouldn't it effect other sites using this same module?
