Frankly I do not see what the hubbub is about 2.2 I use the heck out of it on every site, mainly because no one else is... I know that the general public is going to go for 2.2 because its a bigger number. duh.

I think its important for someone to be using it in an active enviroment. If it wasnt intended to be used it wouldn't be available, and there will be a patch to the next "stable" version of XOOPS. So I figure why the heck not: 2.0 is boring.

I use it on every site that I do, I love it. While it may not be the "recommended" version; that does not make it any less XOOPS, dismissing it as such is like spitting in the faces of those who developed it. It stands as a landmark of this community. Not necessarily as a good landmark, but certainly not a bad. If anything it represents a moment in time where the community itself was at its weakest, yet here you all are today reading this post. The community has been through a great deal, many have gone their own ways..... oh friggin well. Those individuals did not make the community. You do, because you are still here, you still support and believe in this project.

Basicaaly I just wanted to vent a bit, speak my mind. I also really want to stress that...

Like you, all of my sites use 2.2.4. Mainly because that was the latest version when I started using XOOPS and there wasn't a RECOMMENDED version posted at that time. I don't regret using it and I certainly won't downgrade. Most of the issues that I have encountered with 2.2.x are the same issues in 2.0.

So, you aren't alone

43 web sites. All 2.2.4. Won't bother with 2.0.x, and I've been here since 2.0.6. I think that says it all.

I'm also building a site on 2.2.4. I was going to wait for 2.3 but then I decided that I should end the 'wait for next release' self excuse . I really like the advantages of 2.2x, and I hope it works ok...i dont mind that some modules dont work.
