I may not be understanding the schematics of things, but I have to ask this (hypothetical) question anyway.

Let's say Module Developer A introduces a new module to the XOOPS community, describing the module and inviting users with questions to post them on their (the developers) forum.

Let's say that User A has a problem and makes TWO posts in the forum at Module Developer A's website (let's even say the problem has been posted previously). And let's say User A patiently waits for an answer.

Then, let's say User A sees Module Developer A reply to several topics on Xoops.org and decides to check the posts that were placed on Module Developer A's website, and sees there were no replies to the posts from User A.

This is not the first time I have seen this happen. But I have to wonder, how can a module developer ignore the posts from a user of their module on their own website? I, too, want to live in Wonderland, where if we ignore it, the problem goes away.

But I have to ask, is this the way to treat the users?

I think you need confirm with the developer: is his personal site module usage support site or a real personal site like a blog.

If the "Developer A" is not me, the same situation is happening on my personal site.

As a module developer, the reason for me not responding in time could be:
1 I do not notice that reports or questions
2 I do not have releasable solutions for those questions

Yes it would be great for me to reply "thx we are going to check it" if I can not answer a question. But replying unresolved questions or not is upon my priority: on a usage support site, the first priority is supporting, answering users' questions and making users satisfied; on a dev site, the first priority is developing, making project production.

I know may people (developers, users, general public) that go to their own forums before they travel outside to answer other questions and/or posts.

We understand if you don't have the time to find a solution at that time, we are NOT asking for an immediate solution. However, we are asking that our posts be acknowledged with an quick response. That is not too much to ask. Especially when we see developers making posts here instead of their website.

Actually, it didn't answer my questions. I'm now even more confused!!!

Can someone now tell me the difference between:

1. personal development site,
2. personal site module usage support site
3. real personal site like a blog

In any case, why ask people to post their module questions/support on ANY site if it's not going to be replied to?

It's no wonder users get upset and developers get upset! Apparently we aren't posting to the correct site! I now have to go back and find out if I posted questions on the proper sites, and apologize if I posted to the wrong site!

development site is used mainly for report, feature request like http://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=add&group_id=41586&atid=430840

while usage support site is more like THIS forum.

Hope this helps clearify.

Another point I would like to let you know:
right now I am staying in China for a few months, while the server is in FL, USA. As a person never comes to China, I think you will never understand how difficult it is to connect to overseas sites, not always but from time to time.
I even have difficulties with committing to SF SVN.
Do you believe that?

Actually I've been overseas many times, something which you have no reason to imply otherwise. I never bothered to see if I could connect to XOOPS instead of my "personal development website".

Well, thank you for the Developer's Questions Lesson 101.

I have no idea what "page" you are referring to for me to check the creation time.

Next time I will check to make sure I have the correct website (development, support, personal) before I make a post. I didn't realize that there were so many websites to dive through to get a question/bug answered.

Let me give you a little English 101. The word OR implies either but not necessarily in the order written. I only followed what I deemed proper protocol and posted my question on the developers forum, as I have been told in the past. I did not know that I had to post it here, only to be told to check the developer's website.

Please forgive me for my dumbness and asking a question.
