During the installation I have a number of notices... "Only variable references should be returned by reference" on top of the page.

However, when installation is finished, my index page looks like on the picture:

I am not sure if that is a complete index page... I cannot access admin area, I get blank screen.

Apache/1.3.33 (Win32) PHP/4.4.0

Make sure your database is working properly. The times that I have seen this kind of errounous behaviour, were due to a broken database, or corrupt tables.

It seems that everything is fine with database. It does not report any errors during installation.
