Problem with date in News 1.42 & News 1.31

Basically I have been having a problem with the date, I still have the problem with the date, but I am pretty sure this is not a problem with the News module, or if it is, it is a problem caused by the new XOOPS 2.2.3, as the date was fine before I updated to 2.2.3.

Anyway, I updated the News module from 1.31 to 1.42 on one of my sites, just to see if that would sort my date problem out.

It has not sorted the problem out so I want to return to News 1.31 as it was working fine, I don't see any advantage to the 1.42 update.

I don't want to uninstall the module as I don't want to loose my news stories.

I am wondering if there is no script to downgrade, can I just upload a backed up version of News 1.31 and update the module in Admin, will this allow an update to a lower version?
