I am using Apache 2.0.55, MySQL 4.1, PHP 5.0.5, XOOPS 2.2.3a

During the installation process, it is okay (all green light), however, after installation and click 'Here', it goes to a page with the following warnings:

Warning [Xoops]: Smarty error: unable to read resource: "db:system_block_login.html" in file C:\Program Files\Apache Group\Apache2\htdocs\class\smarty\Smarty.class.php line 1084
Warning [Xoops]: Smarty error: unable to read resource: "db:system_block_mainmenu.html" in file C:\Program Files\Apache Group\Apache2\htdocs\class\smarty\Smarty.class.php line 1084
Warning [Xoops]: Smarty error: unable to read resource: "db:system_userform.html" in file C:\Program Files\Apache Group\Apache2\htdocs\class\smarty\Smarty.class.php line 1084

Those are PHP Debug messages which can be turned off in your administrator control panel. Normally, NOTICEs are no big deal, but WARNINGs usually indicate a problem. By the looks of the warnings, it seems like your templates_c folder is not readable/writeable by the server.

Check and make sure the Read Only attribute is not set on that folder.

How to check the Read Only Attribute? In xoops?

I am using windows 2000. And use Administrator to install xoops. Thanks.

Hi klwong,

In windows its like any file. Right click on the file and uncheck read only. Under linux the file should be CHMOD to 777. Navigate to the file/folder. Right click. Goto down to CHMOD and change value to 777. When doing this on the server I normally just change the permissions using smartftp.

Thanks Don,

I am using Windows. However, I found that the read only attribute of the folder 'templates_c' is already unchecked.

I've reinstalled XOOPS but, unfortunately', the warnings still occur.

(I find that when I go to the page, apart from the warnings, serveral files are generated and stored under the 'templates_c' folder)
