One other thing, I changed the block to match my code...but it does not seem to be changing on my site? Any suggestions?

Xetox,

who suggested this code? Please read the FAQ

You have to delete all files in {xoops_root}/templates_c/ or change system setting. But please read FAQ because these are basic answers posted there already.

Welcome to xoops.

I have deleted the files in the template_c dir, and deleted the block itself, but the google block still shows on the site. I dont know what his name is here, but he took a look at my site and made a good suggestion, I am just trying to use it ;)

This one I have fixed, thanks for all the help. Only thing I still have not figured out is how to get my banner at the top of the google page. O well all time :)

hey, is your name troy, that I think was name I saw most often around your site earlier, not sure whats happened but your site has gone blank...

Which is never a good sign.

First off name choice was just random, I just happened to look at the DVD rack and saw dukes of hazzard hence the name...

Anyway I am guessing that you'll have the site back up soon so heres how to do the google thing.

Login to adsense,
goto https://www.google.com/adsense/search-code
Scroll down the page and look for:

Style palettes optional

Select a color palette or style palette (colors and logo) for your search results. Learn more...

there is a list from which you can choose your results style. Under the list is an option to manage style patterns (Will take you here: https://www.google.com/adsense/search-styles )

scroll about half way down and you will see an option to input your logo url, a destination for your URL and some size details. (Size should be the same as the logo on your home page, and the destination should just point back to your homepage that way if none of the results please the user, they can click on your logo and will return to your homepage.)

As you can see there is a colour chart so that you can customise other areas of the results page, such as the back ground, text colours, adsense colours, weblink colours, etc.

Now scroll to the bottom of the page and you will see:

Quote:
Save palettes

Name and save the palette you created. Editing and saving an existing custom palette will replace it unless you provide a new name for the revised palette.

give your style pallet a name and then press save.

Now go all the way back to the top of the page and you will see a link for search code (appears just under the link for Reports) click on Search Code

Now, this is where you set up the search box, from what I am reading above, you have already got this part sorted, so I will let you set it all back up again, one tip is that when you add your domain, make sure that in the example window where it shows the google logo and search box with Web and YOURDOMAIN under the search box, make sure the radio button is selected for your domain, that way when someone searches from your site, the default search will be to search your site BEFORE searching the web.

Continue down the page to the Style palettes optional area again, and this time that list should include the style that you just save, select your style, go back up the page a little until you see the Update Code button, press the button then go to the bottom of the page, select the code and paste it into your google search block.

(you may need to clear the cache in order to see your changes)

When your site is all back on line, try a search, the results page should now be correct.

Ok, so that was probably FAR too long winded, but hopefully if you didn't fall asleep, and made it this far then you will get that extra bit of customisation.
