HELP - Complete Newbie: Will any kind soul please check out this test site http://www.xoops.nzcool.com/ and tell me how to get CONTENT into this thing? What am I missing? Is there some other module that needs loading? A friend is loading this on his local Microsoft 2003 Server / IIS6 / PHP 5.0.5 and MySQL 4.1.14. Please tell me it will work on Micro$haft O/S ?

1. Learn XOOPS basics
2. Install all needed modules for your (defined before starting site) needs

XOOPS 2.2 doesn't contain in distro any modules (except PM and extended profile, not usable as independent modules mostly), you have
- download module
- install it
- configure
- use

1. The FAQ section of this site is your best friend. A vast majority of your questions will be answered there.
2. XOOPS 2.2.x is still very much experimental. If you're wanting to produce a production site, I'd recommend version 2.0.13.1.
3. Support for PHP 5 is still experimental as well. If you use XOOPS 2.0.13.1, you'll want to use PHP 4.

Thanks for your kind help LazyBadger and JMorris. I have passed on this info to Dave who looks after the technical side of things.

He tells me that he has committed to PHP 5.0.5 / MySQL 4.1.14 on IIS 6 at the moment but is seriously considering Linux / Apache for Webhosting.

We have downloaded and installed the XOOPS 2.2.2 Core and Dave has just gotten the 'Invision' Forum module. He is wondering if anyone out there in 'XoopsLand' has successfully migrated to PHP5 and using IIS6 ?

Do we give up now or do we keep at it and find a solution? Is it worth loading a module on something that will never work?
