My current site is using just a CSS theme...

I would like to include graphics to the bars that surround the blocks that are added, and also to the menus such as in the theme used on the site below

I've tried taking that theme apart to see how the graphics are added to each of the theme_section.html files... but the author of the theme there put it all into theme.html and I'm unable to determine which parts of the code... do what parts of the theme. I assume if I play around with it a bit more I could figure it out... but cut/pasting and uploading and viewing is getting frustrating... any help would be appreciated.
