I just installed 2.2 on my LAMP system.

Suse 9.3 / PHP 4.3.10 / MySQL 4.1.10a / Apache 2.x

I go through the install just fine but when I load my page I get:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: session_set_save_handler() common.php on line 197

Any ideas?

Did you finally obtain an answer to your question, filesiteguy ? I have a new SuSE 10.0 OSS installation, and I get the same error. I looked into previous posts, and my php.ini setting session.save_handler is set to files already from scratch install (and writeable for user wwwrun)

Anyone any ideas ? This can't be that no one else didn't encounter the same error ? Everything else had worked before (a previous 1.3 XOOPS install on SuSE 9.2 worked without any problem ...)

Go to Yast, search "php" and install php4-session. This resolves your mentioned problem but then I encounter another one I reported
