I am using Xoops2 and a custom theme for my WoW Guild website. I want to embed an audio file that plays ONLY when the site is visited initially, not in subsequent links to modules, etc. I am able to embed in the theme's html file, but that plays the file on every refresh of the page.

Any suggestions on where to put the embed? Should I try putting php into the html file and see if it catches it? That way I can check for the current URL and only play it when it matches the home page.

Any help is appreciated.

create a copy of your theme, modify that theme with the embedded file, and with the second theme, use the theme changer module the assign the second theme to the rest of the sites module. I use this setup all the time on my sites.

Re: Kind of a complicated question

does this audio file have to be somewhere in particular in the HTML? I'm thinking in the body tag with an onLoad event or something.

If not, maybe it can be solved by making a custom block that is only visible on the front page with the HTML code to play the file?
