I, as the admin, want to approve all user registration requests. Getting emailed when someone registers works fine to alert me.

What I don't see is a feature to automatically send an email back to the person who registered, after I approve them.

Am I missing it, or it is not there? Is the expectation that I create an email telling the user they are approved?

Does anyone have any help with this? Do I have to create the email myself notifying them that they have been approved?

Try to register on your own site and see what happens. The mail you get is a .tpl file located in /language/english/mail_template/.
