With some care, the 'show' and 'hide' dates for many article modules enable you run XOOPS on semi-automatic. If you were running a magazine style site for example, 'Summer' articles can replace 'Spring' articles on a certain date.

Would be nice to have an article mod that enabled the show/hide dates to be set for a batch of articles classified under a particular group. With a check to ensure nothing overlapped. A year-planner style interface might be nice.

a little more explanation?

Say your site was about gardening. You start off publishing 6 articles on 'caring for your garden in winter'. You want those articles to run from November 01 to January 01.

On January 01 you want 6 new articles on 'planting seeds' to replace them.

It's feasible to prepare the articles in advance. So if the 'winter' articles were given a group classification of 'A' and the 'seed' articles group 'B', you could set a cross-over date for them in the module. E.g.

Group..........Show..........Hide
A................Nov 01........Jan 01
B................Jan 01........Apr 01

Apologies to any gardeners if my notion about planting seeds in January is ludicrous, it's a subject about which I know nothing!
