I installed the IPB module for XOOPS 2.0.7.3 and I would like to use IPB to handle XOOPS user profiles.

I can see the admin option to add extra fields to the profile, but I wondered, is there any way to add the 'Extra Info' field currently used by the default XOOPS user profile and have it store the data in the same DB field that XOOPS uses?.

The reason I would like to do this is that the extra info field is used by WF-Sections to display author bio info in a block. It's a nice feature I would like to keep if possible.

you can add custom profile fields to x-ipb quite easily.. i'm pretty sure that wf sections could be modified slightly to read ipb data instead of xoops.. if that's what you meant?

Thx M0nty. So, (I haven't tried this yet) adding an extra field will create a new DB field called 'extrafield1' or something. I could then modify the WF-Section code to pull data from that field instead of the XOOPS 'extra info' field?.
