Use of undefined constant XOOPS_ROOT_PATH

Versions: XP Pro,MySQL 4.1,IIS v5.1,PHP v4.3.1, XOOPS 2.0.9.2

Got confirmation:
Configuration data has been saved successfully to mainfile.php.

With an error in the heading:

Notice: Use of undefined constant XOOPS_ROOT_PATH - assumed 'XOOPS_ROOT_PATH' in c:\inetpub\wwwroot\install\index.php on line 258

Anyone know where I should look for the problem at?
I have a hunch it's with permisions, but hav done all I can think of.

Pls help.

Is there anymore info I can give that might help others with my install problem. I just keep thinking this is the last hole to climb out of nd I will be free of trouble.

Please help, anyone...
