I have a fresh install of XOOPS 2.0.9.2 I installed News 1.1. Then I upgraded News 1.1 to News 1.2.1 by following the instrutions and just overwriting the files. After doing the module update I get a blank page on my homepage. I also noticed that when I uploaded the upgrade that I could not see my unistalled modules that I had on my server -- you know the ones beneath the active modules in system>admin>modules.

So I deleted the news module in FTP and then I could see my home page again.

But when I tried to upload and install News 1.1 again XOOPS told me that I could not install News because table xoops_stories already exist.

on a fresh install there was no need to install news 1.1 1st.. you should have just overwritten all the files and then installed it..

if u installed news 1 1st, you will have to go thru the upgrade procedure for updating 1 to 1.2.1 which i think is by using the upgrade script aswell..

to remove the table u need to go into phpmyadmin..

as u simply removed the folder the tables have been left on the server..

i should 1st try and copy the original news 1 files back to the server and then check your site.. the news module should then appear as installed..

then you should be able to go into admin and uninstall it..
