This isn't a hack (wasn't sure where to post this) but a generic privacy policy that XOOPS users may find useful to include under the "xoopsfaq" module. We have ours listed as the last question under this module---"Privacy Policy" as the 'category' and "Your Privacy At XXXXXX.com" as the 'question'. The text (with bb code/url) below would be the 'answer':
Introduction MY COMPANY respects each individual’s right to personal privacy. We will collect and use information through our web site only in the ways disclosed in this statement. This statement applies solely to information collected at MY COMPANY’s web site.
Part I. Information Collection and Security MY COMPANY only collects information on our web site submitted by registered users. Such information may include user-submitted news and events, uploaded photos, private messages and forum posts. The information is collected by the voluntary submittal of such by registered users.

For COPPA compliance (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act), MY COMPANY asserts that its web site contains nothing designed, displayed or formatted to attract, influence, interest or solicit anyone under the age of eighteen. MY COMPANY memberships are available only to individuals 18 and older.
Part II. Information Usage. The information collected by MY COMPANY is used for the purposes of this web site only. Registered users may receive additional announcements from us about site news, events, private messages, uploaded photos, forum posts and web site updates. Out of respect for the privacy of our registered users we present the option to not receive these types of communications.

I got tired of looking for an example of a generic privacy policy to use (I looked here at XOOPS and on the web), so I hope posting this here at XOOPS helps some of the newbies (like me).
All you need to do is copy-and-paste the code above to wherever you need it, replace "MY COMPANY" with your own company's name and replace "MYCOMPANYSITE.COM" with the URL to your own site.
(Maybe in the future this could be included as a 'default' category with the "xoopsfaq" module?)
