When ever I try to open an attached file from a forum topic MS Word gives me errors saying it cannot find the file and to check the name etc. This also happens with Adobe Acrobat (pdf) files.

The file is uploaded OK and can be opened from the uploads folder no bother. Also, if the user clicks 'Save As' and then 'open' as opposed to just 'Open' from the right click menu or clicking on the link it will open OK.

In other words, why are they not opening when clicked as a hyperlink from the forum? Is this an XOOPS (NewBB2), IE or MS Word setting?

No, I never did resolve it, even after installing Windows Service Pack 2. I just tell users to right click, save as, then open, although I think I only get the problem on my internal Intranet site, not my Lost-Doggies one (see signature) but I can't remember (and unable to access it from work to remind myself). On my thrid site I use CBB instead but that's a new site.
