In the past few months I have become more and more worried about the security of Xoops. This week I even saw the account of Herko being used by someone else in a forum post to prove a security flaw.

In my opinion we should focus more and more on this subject. The growing popularity of XOOPS also means a larger threat to its security.

I like the idea of a XOOPS security taskforce joining efforts in constantly improving XOOPS security. It should be easy for people to report security threats to this taskforce without having to post it on the forum (and thus letting the whole world know about it).

Perhaps we can also join efforts with other portal developers as well as our biggest contributors PHP, MySQL and Smarty (not exluding other third party software).

I would like to hear some ideas on this.

Yep,
I too Agree to this we need more secured site as XOOPS is reaching lot of people.
Every time i log in here i see close above 100 visitors viewing xoops. The popularity of XOOPS will make other CMS Envy.
If XOOPS have something already worked pleased let us know.
