Greetings - I have just installed the application on my localhost. When I try to access the Forum or any other module I get the 403 - forbidden access error. I have checked group permissions, and that the module folder is read/write. I am stumped as I am able to access the administration area and add modules etc ok. Any help will be appreciated.

I'm back again. Here is the url that I get when trying to access the forum. http://127.0.0.1/xoops-2.0.7.2/html/modules/newbb/ . Should this be
http://127.0.0.1/xoops-2.0.7.2/html/modules/newbb/index.php. If so how do I fix this. Thanks.

we can't test that link from online obviously as its local..

but try changing to http://localhost/ instead of 127.0.0.1

also check that you don't have an index.html file in the newbb folder.. as ur server maybe configured to read html index files before php 1's..
