I have got an interesting challenge, I hope I can explain what it is....

My websites major features of interest are the forums.
On my XOOPS sites I am using the included forum modules or the forumEx module.

BUT, many many of the old users, and some from other places that I would like to attract are completely stuck on this old-school forum style:
http://awsd.com/scripts/webbbs/
example: http://www.larryville.com/forum/

What I would like to do is maybe run BOTH forums on my site, but have posts to either one show up on the other.

So those users who cannot break free from the old school forum style can still use that, and people who use the forumEx can still use that, but still see and interact/reply with posts made to the other forum.

Perhaps a mod or hack could be written that would ALSO link forums that are on completely different sites?

And/or maybe shared forum catagories accross different sites? So certain catagories/forums on two or three different sites could be accessed and posted to from the different sites?

Perhaps RSS could be used in some way on this?

Maybe there is already something out there that does this sort of thing?

Ideas? Feedback?

Cheers!

Men, I need something like that too ... an RSS code from my forumEX that pulls latest posts from my forum to my front page...any ideas?
