Wow, we are finally running out of server space!

I remember talk of "delete posts with no reply" feature either being adding to the core or as a hack. Does anyone recall this?

After nearly a year and a half of being online, it may be a good idea to go through and delete those posts, but would be a tedious task to say the least.

Any suggestions?

Thanks all!

Hello,
all...
we were going to try and "clean House" as we are running out of server space and was going to go through one by one deleteing posts with no reply.

But after nearly 2 years we just have too many and we got disheartened.

Is there ANY way to do this?

Thanks in advance!

Did you search for the old messages on that? I'm guessing that you could write a query to dump all unreplied posts from the database. Something to be very careful about but it could be done.

Searching for topic_id in _bb_posts and the matching post_id in _bb_posts_text with only one entry is a clue. Then there is the linked topic_id in _bb_topics that would need to go too.

Lots to consider but certainly doable with a proper manual query. It could all be modularized but I'm not the one to create that monster. It is something that would really be needed for a large site.

good luck.
