Creating a Navigation Block

I read the thread on how to create static HTML pages, convert those to PHP pages and wrapping those within the XOOPS framework.

So, now that I have that out of the way, how do you create a block with the links to those pages within xoops. Also can you add links in the "Main Menu" block as well?

Mindhealth is using a content module called "soapbox". You will find it if you do a search.


Multimenu is very useful for creating menus.

To add links to the main menu see XOOPS for dummies and the menus section. Using a custom block you can also add your own links to pages using HTML.

Creating your own php pages is fine, but they will not be included in the XOOPS global search. Content modules have this ability built in. C-Jay content for example wraps php pages in xoops

I hope JackJ doesn't mind me butting in here, but I think that site is using the articles module and not soapbox (Might be wrong).

You might also want to try WF-Sections (this has all that and more).

I got it. I used "Edito" and just activated the menu block, named it what I wanted, and the rest is history. Now I can put all my static pages through "Edito" and that will put them in the menu automatically.

Anybody following this thread, you can get Edito at the following link: http://www.arma-sa.com/modules/mydownloads/singlefile.php?cid=3&lid=15

When you are new, like me, you have to remember that modules have various different components like the block functions. When you overlook those you miss out on those additional functions all together.

It seems that not every module has a block function nor do they mention it in the "admin" area under the particular modules admin functions menu. So, you have to check in the "blocks" area to see.
