mySQL Table recovery

Does anyone know how to recover tables (and data) in mySQL? One of my now former site admins uninstalled the forums module and it killed the table. He then reinstalled the forums database and discovered that it did not restore it. Can someone help?

I was afraid of that. Well I guess I need to send in some info to the local obituaries.
