I cannot describe how incomprehensibly annoying it is to untar a file for an application and find that the contents are not a subdirectory containing everything, but are X number of directories or files that dump out all over the directory I am untarring it in.

Plus, you named your directories "html" and "docs", not exactly uncommon names. (when I untarred XOOPS in my home dir to check it out, the contents of your "html" directory dumped into my own "html" directory)

Almost every signifigant application in the universe uses a main directory inside their tarfile, please please please don't be that one that doesn't. ;)

P.S. I am very impressed with XOOPS so far, nice work.

You know something, your right! Just one of those little things that hasn't been noticed before! I can see how it would be a bit of a pain if you do everything via *nix remote console or SSH.

Uhg, I don't envy the mess in your room right now
