I am trying to place this code in a custom block



Its not working - any ideas?

I don't think you can use SSI in your blocks, because it's output through php.

You can also try http://ca.php.net/include/ for other solutions.

I have a yabbse forum that I would like to convert over to the phbboard module or the IPB module but I can't seem to find outhow to do that. So I thought I could at least post the yabbse board stats and a link to the forum in a custom block.

I have a medium size forum and hate to create a whole new one. So I guess I'm looking for a alternative.

I'm not sure how to achieve getting the stats displayed on your home pages. For now though, I would wait before making a major move. The newBB is undergoing changes and may have more options to help you. Also, once this is done, koudanshi (maker of phpbb and IPB mod fo xoops) will have to revise his system, so I don't recommend doing anything untill thats been sorted out.

It may very be that your best option is just provide a link for the sake of saving your users the hassle. The options available for XOOPS boards are limited right now, but hopefully that will change.

Board stats? Do you mean like latest posts? You may be able to find a php script that will allow you to show your latest posts in a custom block. When I use to use phpBB2, they had a script called "Topics Anywhere". This script allowed you to show the latest posts from your phpBB2 board anywhere you wanted to, on any site. Maybe there is a script that you can use to do that with your yabbse forum.
