this might sound dumb but here goes...

i downloaded and installed avantgo module for xoops2.

so, how does it work? what do pda user need to get the info off my site using this module? what do i need to do?

do the pda users need to download or puchase software to make this work?

AvantGo's website has more information, but you should read about their policy regarding providers having to pay where it used to be entirely free for custom channels.

I haven't tried the AvantGo module, but I believe it takes care of setting up the custom channel for you. See their FAQ for more information.

In any event, the client software is still free but it must be downloaded and installed on the PDA. AvantGo is a service that compresses web pages through 'channels' so PDA users can have offline web content. It also works live, so wireless users can use their service to get compressed streams--but I don't know the details on this and might be misleading, check it out for yourself.
