Re: Spanish Language for XOOPS

I am not certain, but, I think you can only officially use one language pack at a time.

There is a multilingual hack that let's you host more than one language at the same time... but, I don't think it has anything to do with the language pack. Instead, the multilingual hack (or multilanguage or multilingo, I forget) let's you create parallel versions of your documents... one in each language.

The advantage of that is you have control of the translation. The disadvantage is the maintaining content in more than one language is at least double the work.

The other approach is to use a translation block, which translates your pages using one of the free online translation tools. I think this might be the easier way to go, particularly since you are catering to one user.

Hope this helps.

I have a user that is Spanish speaking and I thought about installing the language pack to help him.

How do I do that ? And will that link provide me with the files I need ?

I am running 2.05

I am sorry. I have worked for a big while without consulting the Download section. I am a fool!

I thought a Spanish language pack was available already. Did you try this:
Xoops v2 Spanish Language Pack

At the top of the xoops.org page there is a link to a place where the available language packs can be downloaded.

In addition, you may want to check out the Spanish support site at http://www.esxoops.com/

Perhaps I misunderstood your question. I'm sure the Spanish language team and the XOOPS community will appreciate your help.
Spanish Language for XOOPS

Hello:

I am the webmaster of a Department of the Univerisity of Seville (Spain). I am setting up a new version of our website using XOOPS and I am amazed by its possibilities. You have done a great work. Due to XOOPS does not include the Spanish Language I have hade to translate some of the texts in the modules we have used. So, I want to know how can I become in a translator of XOOPS (to Spanish) in order to allow XOOPS to include Spanish Language in future versions.
