Alrights, users of the headline block please share you opinion on this issue.

When we click a link on the headline block, it lead us to the index page of the headline module.

I've tried to change this by allowing the link to open a new page directly linking to the site.

However, I need some help, as my hack doesn't seem to work.

I've edited xoops_url/modules/xoopsheadline/blocks/headline_block.html

On line 9, there is

<{$items[i].title}>

I edited that to,

<{$items[i].title}>

I saved and reloaded the module. However the headline block still refer me to the index page of the index module.

I'm lost. Pointer is greatly appreciated.

I would also be interested in this. I have headlines in my top page. Currently a visitor is taken to the headline module after clicking on one of the stories from my rss feed, I want a new window to open taking them straight to the story. Thanks for your help. For an example, my site is at http://www.Chiefscrowd.com.

It should work as edited. Tried clearing cache?

Also may want to add the highlighted to keep your visitor on your site.
