It includes this functionality, though in a limited way, meaning the show/hide action is only valid in the present screen. I'm also waiting for Draven's more complete solution, but the theme I mention might whet temporarily your appetite --because it includes more goodies, most of them having to do with HTML and CSS rather than PHP.
