No, basically, I would like a list of all the countries and all the cities for each country. Lots of websites have this - so there must be some place where I can get this data from?

Hi all,

I am planning to create an addresses module. I would like to make the addresses organised and indexable.

Is anyone aware of any resources on the net so that I can get a list of all the city and country codes? Or anything else that might help?

I am using XOOPS 2.015,
- sendmail
redhat enterprise 4
- with postfix

I am assured by the host that the problem is not with domain/records. How can I check if the domain is blacklisted? Although, I would be surprised if this is the case.

Some users are unable to receive XOOPS activation emails despite logs showing that emails are successfully sent.
Emails are not going to spam and there is no sign of emails failing from unix/email logs. Very bizarre!

Can anyone help with this?

That does seem a very good way to do it.

There appears to be 3 main approaches to developing interfaces:
1. Use Smarty Templates
- Total control over layout, slower, less secure

2. Use XoopsForm
- Very secure, More difficult to Maintain, Less control over layout

3. Use Both
- Very secure & Good control over layout

Using option 3 as Julian has suggested seems like the best aproach for someone about to start on a new project.

Can anyone give any pointers regarding Security? What should one be trying to keep secure? How can XOOPS Core help?

Are security tokens implemented automatically using the XOOPS hidden elements?

What about using core XOOPS functions like the security tokens and field validation are they easier to implement using smarty templates or XoopsForms?

Hi thanks for the alternative view there Birdseed.
Can you recommend a good practice how to create forms. I am briefly aware of form generators as formulize and formulaire, are these any good? Or is the best way just to develop manually?

Great thanks! Just the kind of advice I was looking for.
I will also use smarty templates. May as well stick to one standard way of doing things and it makes sense to clearly separate the interface from the logic.

Hello all,

I am just starting out developing a XOOPS module and in PHP too.
I can see that AddElement is used to construct certain forms. Is this the preferred way of doing things. Can someone please explain the pros and cons. I guess the pros are more obvious - it can be done dynamically is probably the biggest one?
Is add/Element preferred for certain types of forms and not others - I ask because I can see that it is not consistently used and sometimes a template is used.
