Good question ... First of all, don't be tempted to use a free host for a production site. They have no obligation to you, no contractual requirements and no guarantees. Some are reliable, some serve banner adverts and popups, but ultimately they all use free hosting as an incentive to get you to upgrade later to a pay plan, or use your site as a vehicle for their promotion.

I went through 3 free hosts before realising it was not a secure option.

Free hosting may well be suitable for test sites, but it's your choice.
