In admin, uploaded module icons are missing, how do I proceed?
Try re-uploading the images and make sure your FTP transfer mode is set to "binary".

This is Not working for me

Thanks for the tip, but I have the same problem - and reloading the Images folders from the modules didn't help, nor did reloading the modules. Second day stuck here.

Basically, starting my first XOOPS site, uploaded backup, xoopsinfo and protecto carefully following instructions. First time in Module Admin backup shows (and is activated) but the other two don't show (no icon there)

I started a detailed thread on this but have no help yet...

Meanwhile, I'm sat on a big security hole with Protector 'half' installed.

Oh dear...

Hey... It sounds like you have a bad install. I have never had any kind of problem with the icons in the admin side.

Windows or nix, "Xoops" works flawless everytime for me!

I noticed you did not give and server info?

Let us know how you are setup.

Maybe we can get you straight.

I think if your not to far along you should erase all files and start from scratch.

That way you know you have a clean install...

Script-Fu

This is resolved down to being a Protector only install issue - unfrtunely the Proteector is deemed 'Essential'..!

That thread is on the front page of XOOPS still (why so many places to find help?). Here's what I posted there:

Quick update - I am now able to add modules EXCEPT protector just fine - SO this is a Protector install issue. I have uninstalled and re-read the process 3 times and read different instructions (there are some fixes needed).

Questions:
1. Protector is said to be a 'must' - if I can't install it what are my options?
2. Is there any other way to force it to activate (it is there)?
3. If it's essential then why isn't it part of the 'core'?

And

Should I start a new thread now that the problem has been parsed down to the Protector install? Or is there a way to link threads?

Thanks to all who helped so far (and those who read but couldn't assist).

Hoping to get to content this weekend!!

Zaph
