What sort of content can I put on my xoops website?
Xoops websites are capable of rendering many different types of content, from text, formatted or not, to images, video, sound and games. There are many article managers with varying features for display and organisation, Photo albums, diary/calendars and organisers. Also real estate, advertising, and other category based content modules.

There are many modules already created for these types of content, perhaps the best way to get more insight on this is to browse the Module Repository. There are several categories here to help sift through the possibilities.

See also this FAQ on test driving xoops and modules.

Random question

Can someone point me to the direction of how to make a page like the initial homepage on xoops.org?

I am making a site where I want a static block on the top of every page and the initial home page should be the last couple news items.

I haven't quite gotten the knack for how this all works so a tutorial on how to add basic content would be great! I have the news module as well as smartsecion and neither of them are real obvious how to do this.

I want a nice clean home page like is here on this site.
