Best XOOPS Month Ever
October has turned out to be the best month ever for XOOPS - statistically.
On SourceForge.net, the statistics show more than 1½ million page views in October alone and more than 100,000 downloads.
Since the xoops.org facelift, we have had a steady 50,000+ daily pageviews. Since October 23rd, we have been in the top-10 of active projects and we are the 15th most active project in all of October.
This is a great recognition of the work done here on xoops.org - both the development of XOOPS and the support and guidance found in the forums.
A big thank you goes out to everyone in the XOOPS community

Obs_classroom Module Released
The obs_classroom module is a module for managing schools with divisions and classrooms. Each classroom is assigned a user/teacher to manage this classroom. The teacher can then create new classes in that classroom and create blocks of certain built-in types for presenting information.

My Avatars 2nd tutorial for personal collections
MyAvatars Tutorial- CarnukeThis tutorial is intended to help entry-level users to process their own avatars and prepare them for uploading to their Xoops website. I strongly recommend that users also read my first tutorial here http://houseofstrauss.co.uk/files/avatar-tutorial/avatars.htm if they need guidance about using the sql file in the database. I also recommend that users try out the procedures FIRST on a test site, preferably on XSAS local server installation. If you are learning new techniques, you should always do this in a safe, non-production environment, where mistakes don't matter.
This tutorial pack contains the following:
1- avatars folder (empty except for a blank file to be deleted)
2- collection folder (containing 100 mixed images for processing)
3- myavatars.htm (the tutorial file)
4- myavatars.sql file (the database file to accompany the avatars)
5- myavatars.swf file (must be kept with myavatars.htm)
6- PicSizer.zip (compiled exe application for image processing.)
7- Readme file. (this file)

IT Headquarters Releases Two New Themes
With the creation of my new theme for my http://www.it-hq.org site I have decided to make my old theme available for download for the general Xoops public. I have made this theme available in both a full screen and a 759 pixel wide fixed width version (to accomodate 800 x 600 screen resolutions), and both themes contain W3C valid CSS as indicated by the W3C CSS logo at the base of the theme.
Pre-release Xtrm theme
As we get alot of mail these last few days, we decided to port the new Extrm theme into the download section.
It's our latest production theme build in css.
Be carefull when using this theme in a production envirment, it still contains bugs! When finding bugs, please report them back to us so we can do something about it :)

I have just launched my new site called Intense Network. It is basicly one main site with subsites added on to it. The little sites are, Film, Music, Gaming, Forensic, Sport and Graphics. I still need to add more content and most of the headers are only temp until I make better ones.

Xoops Sites Directory Relaunches, Sort of :-)
Xoops Sites Directory was originally intended to be a reciprocal link directory for the Xoops community. To be included, your sites must be Xoops powered (some conditions apply) and have a link back to the directory.
As majority of you have decided "linking back" was too much, so we have made the linking back as optional. So please list with us, and hopefully we can categorize all of Xoops sites out of there.
The Directory is intended to categorize Xoops sites (mirrored DMOZ categories), not for popularity rankings.
