ECRO 2006

Website for the 17th European Chemoreception Research Organization Congress (Granada, Spain).

http://www.ecro2006.com

After building websites for other events using HTML, my own PHP scripts and Flash, i have to say there's no better solution than XOOPS for this.

The big fat part of the cake is the submissions system, that is my own hacked version of News 1.4. The participants send their presentations to the scientific committee using an online form and then they rate the proposals. The scientific committee can't publish articles, they can only rate them. Then, when the evaluation process is finished, I'll publish the high-rated articles and delete the low rated ones, and this will be the scientific programme.

It also uses a cloned version of WF-channel for "about Granada" section. Thanks WF-project and Xoops Brasil for that.

The website uses Xoops 2.2.3 with some modifications in the mailing system.

XOOPContact v1.5 for XOOPS 2.2.X

The first question that always comes to mind when someone see's a module like this is - Why?

For starters, there are many other versions of a Contact Us module out there - but guess what, none of them did what I needed, or the client I wrote this for. As with any module XOOPS@IBDeeming! puts out, I always find more options and configs that can be added. I think I have stretched this one out, and really expect it will meet most any need out there! Whew - now check this out...

Contact V1.5 - Based on the original by Skalpa - but nothing like it anymore!

UpYou.it goes to Xoops 2.2.3a!

Here at UpYou.it, italian site dedicated to technology and computers, we have upgraded the core to Xoops 2.2.3a from Xoops 2.0.13.2.

Also we have changed graphic theme and general layout of many modules like News and CBB 2.30. For the articles we are using an higly modified version of the original Sections.

We have also removed mydownloads and added RM+ Download Plus using and update script ( well, something didn't go so well and we had to do some MySQL ).

Please visit the site and leave a comment here

Thx!

Stefano

How to have sizeable text areas in Xoops 2.0 and Xoops 2.2

What is it ?
Have yo ever find the text areas available in Xoops too small (or too large ) ?
With this modification of Xoops (also called hack), you will be able to resize
all the text areas available in Xoops. You can make then higher, larger and even smaller !

For a better understanding, see this animated picture. Resized Image
This is very useful when you are writing a long article or a long post in a forum and when
you want to have a global view of your text.

This modification was applied to the simple text areas, like the one you can find in your
website's preferences and in the dhtml text areas used, for example, in the comments.

The original idea come from FUDforums, an excellent Open Source forum.
To run, this hack requires that javascript is enable.
