Last week marked two important milestones for XOOPS:

1) XOOPS 2.4.4 has been downloaded over 30,000 times within the first four months since its release on Jan. 22, 2010 (including international releases)

2) We have now over 100,000 registered users on our Website.

Thank you and congratulations to all the members of our XOOPS community who contributed to this success.

We know that there is still a lot to be done, but with your help, XOOPS will become the best in can be!!!

Some of them on not active, and we have few spammers here and there, but most important is that we're growing!

So yes, we'll definitely have to look into a newslettter

I think, Eduardo had one for EXM. Maybe soon he'll release an updated version for his RM Common Utilities.

..not all are genuine registered user...

i think most of the user who registered with number in their username is a spam registration

I am really glad in my own homes house, those sounds of everyday life the clunks and bunks I only physically hear from most of the developers like catz under foot or mamba at the kettle or phppp with the fridge sound DJn'

In 2.3.3 it was like physical systems where being attached to New Canterbury Rd in Sydney.. Now I have my little hashed world again it is so peaceful with the 2.4.x series. I think by now with CMS Systems if you are making a road and don't know about data physics and physical systems maybe you should also make a XOOPS Rd, DRUPAL Place or Wordpress lane.. In your street designs, they will always echo the developers systems cause of physics and the room rule.

The download times are very good.

Xoops 2.3.2b was here for 8 months and has the same number of downloads. That means we're having twice the number of people interested in Xoops or in upgrading old Xoops instalations.

...or it means we have 30.000 installations and if we wait more 4 months we will get 0 downloads?

Either way, 30 000 is a nice number!

It was a pleasure planning this release with you and offering advice on unusal functions like the ones for the amazing preloads you wrote.

Also compairing the Bug tickets in the forum we are down around 56% on the time line between 2.3.x and 2.4.x Series

The number is only for downloads. Normally people have more than one Website, so this could mean 2x or 3x more installations.

Either way, as you said, it's a very good number, and the adoption rate (30,000 in only 4 months) is also very good too!
