Do you not realise it's Friday, you left it a bit bloody late to tell the community didn't you, not everyone may see this news article.

It isn't even spotlighted to point out the X.O site will be closed.

Come on DJ, no sorry the XOOPS DJ, darn keyboard I mean XOOPS Council, post earlier next time to give all a chance to see it, and spotlight to it isn't missed.

I am sure this will be displayed on the site closed splash screen.

Still, I do agree that a little more notice would have been nice. However, lets applaud the fact that it is getting done!

possible migration

Hmmmm....I wish I could do that in real-life.

"If things work out ok and after testing our migration process in production then we'll migrate". "If not then we'll just do it another time".

While it's nice to see progress this is very short notice, has had no formal planning with the involvement of the community and there is a team working, with full knowledge of the "COUNCIL" on making this a more organized and formal process that has had no input.

You must have buy in from those involved before you can make these things successful. A little communication goes a long way!

Fine by me. I got the RSS-feed on my mail, so I have no problem.

But maybe the community and the project can make an
SLA for further use?

Note... members is no longer on the sidebar.

Yeah that's disappeared. Wonder what else will keep disappearing with no public view of plans.

Didn't the members search thing disappear about a week or so ago, I went to use it either last week or the week before and it wasn't there.

I then mentioned it to David the other day too, just to confirm it wasn't me.

Maybe they meant to say "possible migraine"

_______________
BTW: I was reading some posts from 2005 and I swear if you had left back then and came back now... two years later you wouldn't have thought you missed a thing. The threads read the same. And in a most cases it is the same players.

Tom,

for the last two years we all were complaining that the server is outdated and nobody is doing anything about it.

Now, FINALLY somebody is doing something, and the first thing that comes to your mind is "bitching" that it wasn't communicated the way "you" wanted?

Come on, give DJ a break!!!!

Did you miss something this weekend on the server, that was critical for you? Or is it complaining for the sake of complaining?
