xsGal is a simple image gallery with lightbox effect. It generate thumbnails of images inside a particular folder (and sub-folders) and show them in an organized way.

xsGal 1.2 features:
-Added display images per page ( thanks to optikool ).
-Corrected style.

Language Packs:
-ِِArabic, german, french, polish, english, portuguese, italian and spanish.
-Thanks to all translators.

Thanks for this module

I wrote on the FAQ of the Laboratory XooFoo.org, the modifications necessary to use this module with the package “JsEffects”, like with scripts GreyBox and ThickBox of this package to avoid duplication with excess of scripts in the modules.

Have downloaded this module but I cannot see it in the control panel and if I go to home page and click on simple Gallery in the main maenu I get is:

XOOPS Simple Gallery
Welcome to my gallery !
Albums: » Main
No images in this album

How can I add Albums or even upload phtos. I did read the docs in the folder.

Please help

ok

Use any FTP software for creating album folder ( eg: yoursite.com/photosgallery/ ) in your site then make subfolders and upload photos.

Now edit this file: modules/xsgal/include/settings.php and set gallery path :

 // Your gallery folder (this is where your pictures and picture folders are located). 
$gallery_address = '/photosgallery/';

There are no admin panel ... you need to edit settings.php manually

thanks Mowaffak I did follow the instructions and did what you said BUT to my surprise I forgot to add a trailing slash at the end (/')

Now it works 100% made all that difference

Hi,

There are small bug reported by http://www.dlibya.com, first photo of second row not display.

Please edit modules/xsgal/include/functions.php and replace line 274:

$count2 = $count_row;

with:

$count2 = $count_row-1;

Bug fixed by Dr. Salah bokris ... many thanks

and then in closes the explorer prowser!!

unhandelled win 32 application ' the error msg says';

Hi Saidan,

When did you download this module and how did you have things setup on your site when you got the error? Example, did you have recent images showing up on the same page as the gallery or some other configureation?

Hi there this is a great module, i see that you have an image of the content of each album folder, but in my site apears a default folder icon, http://www.arnoldotapia.com/modules/xsgal/index.php and in the main page apears "there is no image in this album" -- No hay imágenes en este álbum-- the people maybe confuse this

I think I messed something up. Downloaded, installed and configured this way.

 // Your gallery folder (this is where your pictures and picture folders are located). 
$gallery_address = 'www.mysite.com/portal/modules/xsgal/galeria/';

Didn't work. I deleted lines 122 - 187 from functions.php to avoid Exim -I can't even guess what it is-. When i did so, page appears blank. What am I doing wrong?

lucas23,

Put the Exim code back other wise you will have other problems once you finally get this to work. For your gallery_address, if your website is located at http://www.mysite.com/ then your gallery_address should contain portal/modules/xsgal/galeria. Also keep in mind this module has been updated and if you decide to upgrade, that setup.php will be obsolete.

Great news. I think it would be an interesting module, because it is simple and very useful. Just downloaded the file and installed it, and will share the link on XOOPS Argentina also for them to try it. If I can give a hand, please tell.

I have updated the module and sent you the link. There are some new defined variables in the config file to you will need to do some comparisons while porting it to other languages...
