Now Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe that this is the first XOOPS theme to implement alternative style sheet functions.

What does that mean?

Simple, This theme allows users to select from 3 colorschemes, and even stores there preference in a cookie.

Which means that when they come back to your site they wont have to switch to their favorite scheme.

This is my first attempt at incorporating this feature into my themes. In the future I will be utilizing this with more graphically rich concepts.

I hope you all enjoy this little toy.

Best yet, I do hope to see more uses of this function.

Ive seen the code for this before, but not integrating it in a switched theme option. Nicely done! Now we need some neat ideas to make this classy, rather than a gimmick. I can see a useful application for those with impaired vision. For example some people see certain colours much easier than others. This would be a useful option, for fonts to make them more readable.

Thanks for showing us your ideas and good luck with the development.

Good to see this working This technique is often used to offer larger font size versions of the site. This is good for accessibility reasons too. Lets use it for that?

Yep, you can see it in my latest theme release... as soon as it is approved.

There are still some bugs to work out, however it does work.

Yes, you are wrong, Biteronboard !

The first XOOPS Theme was :
XC Theme Common

All the themes released by Xoopserver still being improved for XOOPS 2.0.13.2, XOOPS 2.0.16 and XOOPS Cube 2.1 Legacy

Humm... It's not a sort of plagiarism, isn't it!?

I'm kidding, nice theme!

P.S. Check the last themes for the css siwtch from 3 to 2 columns !

Instead call showcblock twice, i use this for different XOOPS blocks
(themes should work with any XOOPS branch)

I am really enjoying your themes as well.

In regards to your color vs text issue.

If you look at my latest theme (Halo) I have incorporated a .js text toggler.

This prevents conflicts between color styles and text styles.

This is pretty much beta, as I haven't been able to combine the two .js functions to write to the same cookie.

Any ideas on combining fontTools.js, and style_switcher.js would be greatly appreciated!

I especially like this method, because it saves designers time from creating several styles for different font sizes.

All in all I am trying to create the standard in Alternative Styles for XOOPS, so anyone who has ideas is welcome to throw them in!

it's flexibility all depends of the xhtml structure and how the css is applied, that's why a XOOPS theme template is important...when the theme template becomes a working object for us (I see it as zeta reticuli's skeleton > morphogenesis), there would be no limits on what designs we can do, a somewhat css garden, where the xhtml stays intact and all the designing occurs in the css. Only then will we all be working under one same XOOPS standard. Also the less the tables the more flexible the design is.

I completely agree skeletal framework is inevitable. Though for the common user all they see is the same old style. They don't understand the evolutionary process that is occurring. When zeti/morph reaches it final state. Then we can truly show how powerful this engine is.

What this and Halo are about is incorporating feature that will enhance the XOOPS experience for users.

I wanted these features in XOOPS.

As of the release of Halo i would say it is at beta. That is until the .js is integrated more seamlessly.

i like it but i suggest only the mast head should change randomly not the entire thing. but i appreciate such developement i know it isnt easy to make one.
